Meeting the members of KISS!

My lifelong 'membership' in the KISS Army began one day in 1977 when my older brother brought home the Destroyer album.  From the opening news story and the now infamous guitar riff intro to "Detroit Rock City", I knew instantly THIS is the music and band for me!

In 1979 I got to see the band live for the first time.  I've never really counted how many times I've seen them in concert over the past 25+ years, but it's a lot!  And along the way, I managed to gather quite a few mementoes from the shows in the form of guitar picks and drumsticks.  My interest in the band re-peaked with the MTV Unplugged show in 1995 and the subsequent return to glory of the original four members, complete with war paint. Around this same time, the internet began to blossom, connecting KISS fans from all around the world.  Along with the release of Psycho Circus album 1998, along came KISSonline, the official website for the band. Soon after, I was invited by KISSonline to share my collection with KISS fans everywhere and I gladly accepted. In 2008, the site was moved to KISSFAQ.

Putting together Picks-N-Sticks, the Complete KISStory of Guitar Picks and Drumsticks, has been an enormous amount of work, and quite time consuming and costly I might add.  But it has also been fun, educational and very rewarding. I want to thank the many, many supporters and contributors of this project over the years.  Thank you!

Perhaps the most fulfilling reward of all has been to meet my lifelong heroes. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to meet the late great Eric Carr and I envy those that did.  But I have been fortunate and honored to meet the other nine members.
